It doesn't need to be that way.

And most importantly, you do not have to face these feelings alone and without help.

Sometimes it is difficult to solve problems or the same issue keeps reoccurring. More often than not, we don't even understand why we feel this way or even how to describe our feelings to others. Overwhelming feelings and thoughts can make us feel trapped, confused and helpless - without a sense of a way out.

The truth is that at some point in our lives we all experience difficulties - either in our personal or working life.
Some situations are more complex than others and some are harder to deal with on our own, that is why a professional and experienced Psychotherapist can give you a clearer outlook on life and really provide a positive impact.

I undertake assessments of your needs so I can adapt my psychological models to support you through the right therapy.

Our first meeting is an informal consultation at my office or via telephone (15 mins free).
This is mainly to get to know you, understand your present situation, and determine the right approach for you. Then together we prepare tailored sessions to optimise your well-being.

Most importantly, this is to allow you to determine if you feel comfortable working with me and also a chance to ask any questions you may have.

Counselling

Counselling will help you to identify and explore the underlying issues and emotional patterns which are creating your current difficulties. I will offer you confidential, non-judgmental support and insights, and also challenge you to think about your situation. Through this process you can develop the understanding and confidence to make new choices in your life and move on.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy helps people with psychological problems that may have built up over the course of a long period of time. It will help you to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviour more clearly. It is process of treatment that identifies emotional issues and the background to problems and difficulties in the here and now.

C.B.T

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a form of psychotherapy found scientifically to be very effective in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, low self- esteem, stress, anger as well as many other problems. This therapy focuses on cognitions (your thoughts) and on behaviour (your actions). Once you change the way you think or behave, you will change the way you feel and break the cycle of self- perpetuated pain, anxiety or discomfort. Through our assessment together we work out what are the problems in your life now and set goals to work though these issues.

E.M.D.R

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an innovative clinical treatment originated and developed by Dr Francine Shapiro in 1987. E.M.D.R is effective in treating individuals who have experienced psychological difficulties arising from traumatic experiences, such as assault, road traffic accidents, war trauma, torture, natural or man-made disasters, sexual abuse and childhood neglect. E.M.D.R is also increasingly used to treat complaints which are not necessarily trauma-related, such as panic disorder, phobias, performance anxiety, self-esteem issues and other anxiety-related disorders.
